Membership in the Q-Wave email list and Facebook Group is reserved for people who identify as queer, Asian/Pacific Islander, and as a woman or as trans. If you identify as such, please request to join below. You will hear from other Q-Wavers and receive closed event details. We hope to see you at one of our gatherings soon!

Q-Wave Listserv Posting Guidelines
Q-Wave strives to create an inclusive and safer community for our 1,000+ member community. Please be thoughtful and well-intentioned when engaging with this listserv. Utilizing this space to connect with other Q-Wave members is encouraged! With that in mind, we ask that you be mindful of the following community guidelines when emailing the listserv:
Keep Q-Wave’s mission statement in mind: Before you email, think about whether it aligns with our mission and serves our community.
Keep our community and geography in mind: Q-Wave is a community specifically centered around queer and trans AAPI folks in New York City! While we love hearing interest from folks outside of NYC and the greater New York area, please keep in mind the specific geographic location we serve before posting.
Be kind and respectful: Please be thoughtful and have/assume best intentions when interacting with people on the listserv. Remember that we’re all humans here.
Use your best judgment: The Q-Wave Steering Committee is fully volunteer-run, and we cannot moderate all activity within this community. This resource is shared by all members of our large listserv, so please use your best judgment when interacting with people you don’t know or responding to posts.
Limit commercial posts: You can advertise your business, but please be thoughtful about the service you provide and whether it would be helpful for our community.
No duplicate posts: Please only email once about your ask/event/initiative (though one reminder email for an event is okay).
Decide who you want to reply to: the original poster only or to the entire listserv. This is a large listserv! Please think about what you’re sending when you decide to reply to all.
Double-check who you’re emailing: If you’d like to email just the Q-Wave Steering Committee (and not the whole group), our email address is info@q-wave.org. Only we will see your email at this address!
In order to ensure that this listserv is a safer space, we ask that everybody agree to and abide by these guidelines—if you are unable to follow them, then you may be removed from the listserv.
